In 2016, Chris presented his Funky Chicken Show as part of the Queensland Arts Council Youth Touring Program, managed by Qld Music Festival. Here’s what they had to say…“The Chris Collin – Funky Chicken Show consistently scored very highly in our feedback monitoring from schools. Students responded to his stories and really enjoyed the puppetry, music and dance. Educators thought there were good links to the curriculum and a wide range of activities for students to respond to.” – Qld Music Festival

Many schools have difficulty accessing visits from authors and other professionals involved in the arts.

Chris has been bringing his Funkybooks presentation to schools, predominantly in Queensland, Australia for the last three years. Following his desire to foster a passion for reading in regional centres, we can now say the Funkybooks presentation can be taken to schools throughout Australia and to countries all around the world! Click on this link for more information on the Out of this World VIRTUAL Author Visit

Recent Testimonials

2017 – Our Prep to Year 2 students thoroughly enjoyed Chris Collin’s presentation.  He was extremely professional and enthused and inspired our students as well as our staff.  All our students were engaged and loved being involved in the presentation.  Chris was easily able to maintain the attention of his young audience.  Thanks so much Chris!

  • St Columba’s Catholic Primary School, Wilston, Qld

2017 – Chris is a gifted storyteller with much enthusiasm and energy.  The students loved the visit so much and a teacher commented that he was the “best Author we’ve ever had”.  I loved Chris’s use of pace in the lesson, varied activities, integrated music and use of visuals digital and physical.   We will definitely invite Chris back to our College.

  • AB Patterson College, Gold Coast, Qld

2017  – What a ‘Funky’ presentation Chris gave! He was very engaging and related really well to the children. They loved his presentation and asked lots of great questions. The children LOVED the Funky Chicken and we used the character as an inspiration for a writing task the following week. I loved the multimedia and the puppets. Chris allowed our two classes extra time. I would highly recommend this author to visit other schools. Great fun!
