Chris Collin has a very simple philosophy which is to encourage people of all ages to read for the joy of reading! His beautiful rhyming books and author visits are designed to encourage this through fun and funkiness!

But don’t just take our word for it! Here’s a selection of what others have to say:

2016 – There were so many elements to Chris’ presentation. It was great fun for staff and students. I was particularly impressed with how he managed this large group of grade 1’s and held their attention!

  • Moreton Bay Libraries, Caboolture Library

2016- The background on some of the processes involved in publishing a book was very interesting. Students left the session inspired to write, draw and create music!

  • Mudgeeraba State School

2016- The students were totally engaged.  The presentation (with student participation, costumes, dancing and singing) was very entertaining.

  • Wooloowin State School

2016 – The presentation was great! The children engaged well with each component of the presentation and the diversity ensured the different ages and interests of the children were catered for. Well done!

  • Judy Atkinson, Children’s Librarian, Coffs Harbour Library

– Heidi Reitsma (HOC), Tewantin State School

2015 – Chris Collin visited our school during Book Week and presented to our Prep to Year 3 children. He was totally engaging and thoroughly entertaining. The children were delighted with his presentation and went on to write some wonderful Funky Chicken adventures of their own. I would highly recommend Chris as a professional, organised and enchanting presenter.

– Elaine Sauvage, Teacher Librarian, Siena Catholic Primary School.

2015 – I attended two sessions in which Chris presented to Year 6 and Year 4. I was very impressed with Chris’s ability to keep the older students engaged. It was a great visit, and both the staff and students really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend Chris to other schools.

Bernadette Maullin, St John’s Anglican College, Forest Lake

2015 – We booked Chris Collin for an Author Presentation at our Colleges’ Under 8’s Day’ he was not only very easy and wonderful to work during the lead-up to the day, but highly engaging and entertaining throughout his presentation. Chris and his team came prepared with everything they required, they happily set-up with our school system and preformed a belly laughing, child giggling performance. The students aged from 4-8years old loved his character voices and visual displays. After the performance Chris was available at a puppet making craft activity to talk to students about his love of writing and books.  I would highly recommend Chris for a school or community presentation.

Nicky O’Donnell, Head of Dept P-2, Kawana Waters State College

2015 – Chris Collin engages children from the very beginning with such a delightful display of visuals that compliment his fabulous stories.  The music is funny and age appropriate, children immediately respond through singing and dancing because the choreography is simple and whimsical.  Chris made sure that each child was acknowledged for their ideas and efforts and even the funky chicken delighted in the children.  Absolutely one of the best visits ever.
